Privacy policy

1- Data we collect

Personal data (hereafter referred to as “Data”) is any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. A natural person is deemed to be “identifiable” if they can be identified, directly or indirectly, including by reference to an identifier such as a name, identification number, location data, an online identifier, or one or more specific elements relating to his or her physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity.

We collect and process the following data via the website (hereafter referred to as the “Site”), which is administered by the Tour du Valat Foundation, located in Le Sambuc, 13200 Arles:

1-1- The data we collect when you adopt or donate

Identification data: civil status, first name, last name, email, address, date of birth, telephone number;

Payment data: These data are processed by subcontractors (Credit Agricole and PayPal).

1-2- The data we collect via cookies

Users are informed that a cookie can be automatically installed on their web browser during their visits to the Site. A cookie is a data block that does not allow identification of a user, but is used to record information about a user’s navigation on a website. The data obtained in this way is intended to facilitate further navigation on the Site, and is also intended to collect various statistics relating to Site visits. The browser setting can inform you of the presence of cookies and give you the opportunity to refuse them, as described at the following address:

1-3- Sensitive data

We do not process any sensitive data.

2- Use of data

The data you send to us directly is used to receive items related to your order (confirmation, invoice), your tax receipt, and the amount of your contribution.

Navigation data are collected anonymously (by registering anonymous IP addresses) by Google Analytics, and allows us to measure our website audience, visitors consulting the Site, and possible errors, in order to continuously improve user experience. These data are used by the Tour du Valat Foundation, which is responsible for data processing, and will never be transferred to a third party or used for any purpose other than those described above.

3- Legal basis

Data are collected only after we receive the obligatory consent from the user: an order is placed via the website and a box is ticked for a subscription to the newsletter.

4- Storage periods

The data will be stored for 5 years after the year of the last adoption/donation, in particular so that we can respond to any request of the tax administration in the event of an inspection.

Visitor navigation data will be stored for 13 months.

5- Data transfers

The Tour du Valat does not transfer your data to third parties or outside the European Union.

6- Security of your personal data

We implement the necessary technical and organisational precautions to ensure confidentiality and prevent the loss, abuse, or alteration of your data.

The data you provide to us will be stored on secure servers. All financial transactions made electronically through our Site are protected by encryption technologies.

7- Your rights concerning personal data

Under the French Data Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can access, rectify, request the erasure of or exercise your right to limit the processing of your data at any time. You can exercise your rights by writing to the contact below.
